Improved Design of the 2018 Ford F-150
Most of the changes have been made to the front of the vehicle, while some significant changes can be seen at the rear of the vehicle as well. The interior remains somewhat identical to the previous model with the same level of comfort and utility for driver and passengers.
Updated Exterior
The designers at Ford have made quite a few changes to the front of the vehicle so that it looks new and refreshed while at the same time they have retained the familiar rugged look of F-150. The front grille, bumper and the headlights now have a new look that goes well with the overall design of the vehicle.
The new grille is much larger and features a hexagonal shape that flows down to mesh well with the bumper. This new design adds more detail to the front of the pickup truck and makes it sharper and more attractive than before.
The appearance of the grille has been enhanced with a horizontal bar split that runs all the way to the sides to meet with the headlights. Much like the previous year’s model, the different trim levels of the 2018 F-150 pickup truck will have different grille inserts, shapes and colors so that the owner can choose the color and shape they like the best.

The cabin is covered with glare-free materials to make the interior comfortable. Performance of 2018 F-150
Almost all of the engine options have been updated for the 2018 model, except for the 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine that remains the same because it was updated for the 2017 version. The new engines options for 2018 F-150 pickup truck include:
- 3.0-litre Power Stroke V6 Turbodiesel engine
- 3.3-litre Naturally Aspirated V6 engine replaces the previous standard 3.5-litre V6 Engine. This new standard engine produces 290 horsepower (8hp more), 265 lb-ft of torque (12 lb-ft more) and better fuel economy.
- 2.7-litre Eco-Boost V6 engine has reduced internal friction and offers 325 horsepower and a torque of 400 lb-ft (25 lb-ft more from the previous generation engine).
- 5.0-litre Naturally Aspirated V8 engine with anti-friction coating produces 395 horsepower (10hp more) and 400 lb-ft of torque (13 lb-ft more).
All of these new engines will come with the brand new 10-speed automatic transmission except for the base 3.3-litre V6 engine. This base engine is still paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission much like the previous model.
The 2018 F-150 has the maximum towing capacity of 3,270 lbs., which is very impressive for a full-size pickup truck. It has an estimated fuel efficiency of up to 20mpg in the city and up to 26 mpg on the highway.
Safety Features
Ford has added some new active safety features in the upcoming 2018 Ford F-150 truck. The new safety features are standard on higher trims, while they remain an option on the lower trim levels. The new safety features include:
- Adaptive Cruise Control
