3 Noises Your Brakes Should Not Make

There are basically three types of noises car brakes can make to signal an alert that they need serious attention:

  • The first noise is a high-pitched squeal that seizes to be heard when you apply the brakes. That is a warning indicator that several manufacturers in the automotive export built into their cars to notify the driver that the car brakes need to be checked as soon as possible.
  • The second noise would be a grinding or a hard growl which usually means that your pads have worn-out all the way through and they are grinding into the rotor itself. This calls for a serious mechanical attention. Such noises are very common in used cars if brakes are not replaced since they have a higher mileage meaning they have applied brakes a couple of times more than the new cars in the car market. The repair for this kind of damage on the brakes can cost around AED 600.
  • A third noise is the squeaking noise you get in brakes when you stop a car. Most of the times that squeaking is due not so much that you need to have a replacement but a poor installation of the last time the brakes were put in. There are several contact points that a mechanic needs to lubricate when putting in calipers and rotors. So, it’s recommended to taking everything apart and redoing it properly when you hear such noise in your car. Generally, a car owner must be very cautious about the noises the car makes because they indicate a problem that should be attended to immediately.
