Nissan Announces its activities in the motorsport world 2014

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd. announced for its motor sport events for the year of 2014 where Nissan will participate in the following events:

 

1) It will participate in the “Le Mans 24 hours”race (garage 56) with the fastest electric car in the world (Nissan ZEOD RC).

2) It will participate in the GT500 category in thenew “Super GT 2014”series through its “Nissan GT – R Nismo GT500”.

3) The global support with Nissan GT – R GT3 for the customers’ race.

4) It will expand its sport program (Nismo).

 

The fastest electric car in the world which is “Nissan ZEOD RC” will participate in the tournament of “Le Mans 24 hours2014” racewhere it will be located in garage 56. It will be the first car that competes in a full round on the Le Manscircuit using only the electric power where it will complete a full electric round for each task and then return to use theturbo engine with direct fuel injection technology (DIG-T R), this engine consists of three cylinders with 1.5 liter capacity that produces 400 horsepower where it does not weigh more than 40 kg. Currently, “Nissan ZEOD RC”car is subjected to a development process at Nissan’s centers around the world. It was announced recently that Lucas Ordonez will be the first driver for the team while the participation of his team-mates will be confirmedlater. “Nissan ZEOD RC” car is considered a big part of the preparation process for participating in the “LMP1” race 2015.

As the technical roles for 2014 (excluding engines) become parallel to the regulatory frameworks that govern the German touring cars, Nissan team will participate in the “Super GT” series with a modified car that includesnewchassis and engine which were recently developed by Nismo. The developers have used the design of “Nissan GT – R” car which is the basic vehicleso they are implementing the development process which aims to produce a creative car with high levels of speed and reliability.

The new “Nissan GT – R Nismo GT500” car for 2014 includes a significant improvement in aerodynamic efficiency with some hard work to comply with the new regulations’requirements. The rear bumpersand the side channels in the lower part of this car’ structure were designed uniquely where this new technique has not been adopted yet in the German touring cars“DTM”.
