Android Auto is a system that uses your Android smartphone as the brain for an in-dash system taking over navigation, music, and messaging.
Once this device is connected, you will automatically see all your phone’s apps and features through the car’s dashboard touch screen. You can actually browse your music plays lists, check directions on Google Maps and most importantly, it is voice activated. This allows you to do everything without taking your hands off the wheel.
The fun doesn’t stop here, this smart dashboard can actually read any text message received on the go. It further gives you the pleasure of replying back by dictating your reply message verbally raising the “road safety first” flag up high.
The Auto Android shows Google’s contextual awareness capabilities, this means that it can send you reminders when you get near a certain location (like your home or office).
Google says the first new cars that support Android Auto will be hitting showrooms end of this year. Yes, that means that sometime soon, certain car manufacturers may offer both Android and iOS device support. As if choosing the color and options on your new car wasn’t hard enough already.
