While General Motors has faced some major issues with recalling some of its car makes, this has affected their market share. Now, it is recalling around 1500 Cadillac Escalade 2015 and Escalade ESV SUVs because of a problem in the airbag, and about 67,000 Cadillac ATS compact sports sedans due to a problem in the power control of the sunroof.
For the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, the air bag in the front seat passenger may only partially deploy in a crash. This may not only increase the severity on the injuries but might cause potential death. Hence Cadillac had to recall its 2015 Escalade models.
As for the Cadillac ATS recall affects cars from 2013 through 2015 model years. According to General Motors the sunroofs can automatically close if the non-recessed switches are even partly touched. The recall is essential because the switches can be activated with less force than allowed under federal safety standards.
GM assures that no crashes or injuries happened from the above mentioned cases, however repairs were made at the factory and dealers have been told to stop selling cars until they are fixed.
