One of General Motors LLC’s most renowned brands, GMC, has come under fire due to the numerous recalls made by the parent company hinting at various technical difficulties being experienced by the users. The units are recalled to enable the manufacturer to fix or replace the affected the parts.
Models like the Sierra series were diagnosed with an ignition lock actuator that may bind making turning of the key next to impossible. The ignition gets stuck in the Start position and can revert back to Accessory position which causes the engine to lose power without warning.
The GMC Canyon was discovered with incorrectly wired air bags thereby causing delayed or incorrect deployment of these vitally important safety features. Other pick-ups and SUVs have a glitch with their anti-lock braking system causing them to take longer to grind to a standstill; increasing chances for accidents.
At some point GM opted to buy back the vehicles rather than fix them. This alone is evidence enough that you should sell that GMC before it becomes a DMC.
