If there is one brand in the automotive industry that is known for handling the roughhewn thoroughfares like a mother handles her child, it is the Subaru. Bred for rallying and everything off-road, the models from this line up receive a respectable car rating from petrolheads.
The car maker is however involved in a recall of several of its models due to a rusty brake line especially in areas with cold weather. Apparently when the roads are defrosted by application of salt, the salty melted water can splash and find its way through to the brake line via a gap in the fuel tank protector. This briny solution can lead to rusty corrosion of the brake line leading to leaked of brake fluid.
This may result into selling used cars in the used car market due to the longer stopping distance that will be birthed from the above described phenomenon. Safety of the occupants of the car will be highly comprised since the driver now has to exert more force on the brake pedal so as to bring the Subaru to a complete standstill.
The recalled models include; 2009-2013 Forester, 2008-2011 Impreza and the 2008-2014 WRX and WRX-STI.
