With the competition in the car market reaching a fever pitch, automobile manufacturers are pulling out all the stops so as to land business with the most people involved in a car search.

Swedish car manufacturer Volvo has gone all out to attract families with the release of its new concept. The new concept is targeting families with new additions in the form of babies. The company has introduced a seat that is specifically for babies and plays on the mothers’ instinct to be forever dotting on their young ones.

Volvo has redone its 2016 XC90 Excellence edition, a four seater that it itself is a product of tampering with the 7 seater SUV XC90. In this redone concept, the front passenger seat has been done away with and replaced with a swiveling baby’s seat facing the rear.

Albeit looking absurd to some people, the redesigned Volvo is winning points with the families and getting a considerably higher car rating with the mothers with newborn babies. Volvo has surely tinkered with the XC90 seeing as this concept is basically a made-for-mommy version of the Lounge Console Concept that replace the seat with a combination storage/ottoman/television/work table.

Volvo claims the move is for safety, especially as relates to the fact that the seat faces towards the rear. This is because children till ages of 3 or 4 years have weak neck muscles as well as a disproportionate head to body ratio as concerns weight and size.
