Motorists who have been overcharged for parking can now get Nol Card credit refunds directly from the parking meter after lodging a complaint.
All 3,400 parking meters in Dubai have been configured to recognise and credit Nol cards, said Adel Shakri, director of Transportation Systems.
“The RTA is making every endeavour to monitor and sign-off any complaints at the earliest time possible,” he said.
The refund process begins when a customer calls 800 9090 to report they have been overcharged. The complaint is then analysed and validated and the Unified Card Department sends the information to the parking meters for credit recovery. The customer can then tap the card on any parking meter to recover the credit.
Before now, those who were overcharged had to visit a customer service centre to reclaim missing credit.
