Salik has unveiled a new user-friendly website that allows drivers to recharge toll-gate tags, register for new tags or make complaints and queries.

The site, launched by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), uses software developed to make all government websites more accessible and homogenous.

“The revamp of the Salik website was undertaken to make it easier for customers to access the information they require while browsing the website,” said Mohammed Ibrahim Al Awadi, director of Intelligent Traffic Systems at the RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency.

“The website, www.salik.gov.ae, has become more flexible than ever in terms of communicating with RTA’s network, agencies and departments relevant to our work.

“Some glitches had been encountered in the past … but now it is a completely different story, since the new website is more user-friendly and very smooth.”

New features include updates about services, and a channel for road users to offer suggestions, or make complaints or inquiries.

“The facelift involved remarkable improvements to the frequently asked questions section, along with relevant replies so that we can meet all customers’ requirements and queries about Salik,” Mr Al Awadi said.

It was important to develop all services, he added, because the system had become an important part of motorists’ mobility.
