Maserati is world-renowned for producing high-performance vehicles that offer exceptional luxuries and superior power attributes. The 2018 Maserati Quattroporte is no exception, this “original race-bred luxury sedan” brings together the breathtaking Italian style and latest comfort and convenience features for a memorable commuting experience.
Being called the “World’s First Super Saloon” by Maserati, the 2018 Quattroporte is surprisingly agile for a large sedan. The sedan comes with an upgraded twin turbo V6 engine, a new electric power steering system and a new Maserati Infotainment System.
The 2018 Maserati Quattroporte is available in both GranLusso (luxury trim) and GranSport (sports trim) variants that come with exclusive interior and exterior design elements. While the performance of the 2018 Quattroporte is incredibly powerful, the newly added active safety features ensure that the occupants feel secure while enjoying a striking driving experience.
Here is a review of the 2018 Maserati Quattroporte with a closer look at its design, performance, safety features and a lot more.
Design of the 2018 Maserati Quattroporte
The large sedan boasts an aggressive design without losing the elegant look which the 2018 Maserati Quattroporte is known for. The exterior is sporty with sharp lines and contours whereas the interior is laced with latest technologies and luxuries to enhance the driving experience.
Exterior
From front to back, the 2018 Maserati Quattroporte looks majestic and gorgeous with its sharply designed hood and muscular fenders. To complement the motor sport heritage of the brand, designers at Maserati have made the front fascia more aggressive and intimidating than ever before.
The iconic Maserati grille dominates the front of the sedan with the Trident sitting proudly in its center. The shape and size of the grille remain the same for the GranLusso and GranSport trims, however, the shape and design of the air intakes and air dams has changed.
For the GranLusso trim, the air intakes have a mesh grille while the air dam has been divided by a body-colored line. The GranSport trim’s air intakes are more sculpted and feature a large air dam for better engine cooling function. An aerodynamic splitter has been added to the front along with a center spoiler in Piano Black for a striking look of the GranSport trim.
The Adaptive LED headlights have retained their signature shape, while the hood has been designed to be more muscular with a deep nose and sharp lines. Looking at the sides of the 2018 Maserati Quattroporte, one can easily notice the side vents that have been added to make the exterior more aerodynamic and sportier at the same time.
The fenders are wide and muscular to make the stance of the vehicle eye-catching. The GranLusso trim comes with 20-inch Mercurio light alloy wheels while the GranSport trim features 21-inch Titano alloy wheels with red brake callipers.
The beltline is deep and sculpted to make the side view of the sedan more dynamic, whereas a singular line below the windows flows from the front fenders and goes all the way back to the taillights for a sportier appeal. The LED taillights have retained their design, however, the designers at Maserati have added quad chrome tailpipes to modernize the look of the rear and make it sportier.
The exterior of the 2018 Maserati Quattroporte is available in two solid colors (Nero and Bianco) and six metallic colors (Nero Ribelle, Grigio Maratea, Grigio, Blu Passione, Rosso Folgore and Bianso Alpi).

The 2018 Quattroporte’s cabin has been covered with hand-stitched leather that augments the luxury appeal of the cabin. The high-quality leather is complemented by genuine open-pore Radica wood for a graceful effect and is also the highlight of the in-cabin comfort features for occupants.

The blue Maserati clock, placed on the dashboard, is a testament to the rich history of this iconic sedan. Right in front of the driver is a 7-inch TFT driver’s display to show essential data to the driver in real-time. Performance of the 2018 Maserati Quattroporte
The 2018 Maserati Quattroporte comes with two Ferrari-built engine options that offer race-bred performance and incredible power. This is a rear-wheel drive sedan, however, it is also available with Q4 all-wheel drive option.
The first engine available is a 3.0-litre twin turbo V6 engine that is capable of producing 350 horsepower and a torque of 500Nm. It can go from 0 to 100 Km/h in just 5.5 seconds and offers a top speed of 270 Km/h. With all-wheel drive, the same engine generates 430 horsepower and 580Nm of torque. It allows the sedan to go from 0 to 100 Km/h in just 4.8 seconds and offers a top speed of 288 Km/h.

Both of these engine options are paired with ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, which ensures optimum performance along with precise gear shift. Thanks to the Limited Slip Differential, the transmission sends required power to the rear wheels for superb traction in all driving conditions.
The optional Q4 All-wheel Drive System continuously analyzes the steering angle, driving style, speed, yaw angle, power output and wheel slip to distribute the torque according to the driving conditions. The 2018 Maserati Quattroporte comes with five driving modes that include Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and ICE (Increased Control and Efficiency) modes.
