The used cars exhibitions in the Airport Road in Abu Dhabi began to move to their new exhibitions in the Motor World City at Al-Shameha area where these exhibitions are dedicated to receipt the customers who interested in buying and selling the used cars. Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri, Executive Director of commercial affairs sectors of economic development department in Abu Dhabi said that the department has implemented a campaign on all the used cars exhibitions at Abu Dhabi especially at the Airport Road in order to make sure the transition is final to the Motor World City in implementation of the transfer decision which is issued by the department.
Al Mansouri added that the department of economic development had sent notices to all the car exhibitors that have licenses in Abu Dhabi in order to move to outside the island and specifically to the first phase of the Motor World project and confirmed that it will renew the licenses of exhibitions that take the initiative to move before the end of the specified period. He explained that according to the work plan for the transfer of auto exhibitions to the new location area of Al-Shameha region, commercial affairs department visited the Airport Road auto exhibitions area to find out the latest developments in the process of transition after the expiration of the deadline for them. Mansouri said: “We directed the exhibition’s owners who did not take the initiation to make leases with “Aldar” company in order to book their positions in the first phase of the Motor World City which are about 26 exhibitions by removing all their displayed cars, offices and billboards.
He added that the department of economic development has developed a number of options for these exhibitions and the most important option is modifying the current activity of the institution to the trucks and buses trading with a commitment to move to the Mussafah Industrial area or change their activities to other activities which are suitable with the commercial activities in the Airport Road at Abu Dhabi as well as suspension the commercial license for two years with a commitment to vacate the shop and remove the billboard. For the exhibitions that concluded lease contracts with Aldar Company in Motor World City, Mansouri mentioned that all the tenants which are 56 exhibitions had been told to move all the cars at their old exhibitions at the Airport Road immediately to the new location and there will be many tickets for anyone who violates these decisions.
