Road safety situation in Abu Dhabi is improving by the day, thanks to the untiring efforts of traffic authorities. The journey towards improving road safety situation fundamentally received a boost after the implementation of the recently amended traffic law that confirmed an aggressive stance of authorities against offenders. Traffic penalties for dangerous traffic violations were increased in the amended traffic law to discourage motorists from committing these violations. Traffic authorities also launched several awareness campaigns to educate motorists about the changes made to the traffic law. Authorities have been consistent in taking initiatives to discourage motorists from committing dangerous violations and, at the same time, offer some relief to traffic offenders by providing them with opportunities to improve their driving behavior.

One such initiative was taken recently when authorities announced that motorists can reduce the black points issued against their driving license by attending an event in Al Ain on June 28. Such initiatives hold critical importance in improving the road safety situation as they are aimed at building the understanding of traffic rules amongst motorists.

Details of the Event Arranged by Abu Dhabi Police

Abu Dhabi Police organized an event in Al Ain on June 28 to educate motorists on the issue of road safety. A lecture titled, “Your Safety is Our Happiness” was held at the Al Ain Police Officer Club and motorists were invited to attend the lecture and get an opportunity to reduce black points issued against their license. This was a major development for motorists with mounting black points against their license as the license of a driver can be suspended for one year if the black points against it amount to 24.

The lecture, “Your Safety is Our Happiness” was conducted by Abu Dhabi Police in collaboration with the Emirates Society for the Positivity and Happiness. This was an excellent initiative taken by authorities to further improve the road safety situation in the emirate by giving an opportunity to motorists to learn the fundamentals of road safety. There are also many other initiatives that Abu Dhabi Police has taken for the well-being of motorists. These initiatives include training courses offered for motorists in Abu Dhabi to remove black points against their license and regular discounts on traffic fines offered by authorities, just to name a few.

Training Courses for Motorists to Reduce Black Points against their License

If, for some reason, you could not attend the lecture last week, there are also other opportunities that you can avail to reduce black points issued against your driving license. Abu Dhabi Police has designed a complete training program for motorists with mounting black points against their license. This program includes training courses that motorists can attend to reduce the number of black points issued against their license.

There are three courses available in this program for motorists in Abu Dhabi. One of these training courses is designed for motorists with 8 to 23 black points issued against their license. Such motorists can remove a maximum of 8 black points per year by taking the course. On the other hand, there is also a course for motorists who have more than 24 black points issued against their license. The third course is offered to motorists who want to have a reduction in their vehicle’s confiscation penalty.
