The largest turnout and the first ever spectacular vehicle parade was recently held and the action was powerful at Dubai. It was held by Sheikh Hamdam Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai, and featured some of the most inspiring cars in the UAE. This spectacular parade is known to be the single largest public engagement, regional motoring enthusiasts connect, and tourism promotion for Dubai. There were lot of engagements going on at the parade, there were closed roads, Dubai police cars were cheering on and leading the way, beautiful supercars were cruising past Burj Al Arab, bikers were available to see as far as one could see; it was all-in-all an incredible turnout.
The main focus was on luxury mean machines at the Dubai Grand Parade that rolled out on November 6th and ran for a whole spine-tingling week. The Parade featured many different fleets of over 500 luxury cars and bikes; it was a grand extravaganza of privately-owned vehicles.
The launch of the Dubai Grand Parade was so stunning that it shared everything from Lamborghini and Aston Martin to Ducati and Harley Davidson and everything else in between, the Expo that was touted as a grand success was a visual feast, to say the least. You name a car or bike make, and it was right there. To feel and to hold, to enthral and to captivate.
The Parade was headed by the 2013 Formula One constructors’ champion Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One Car that served up a splendid performance. The wheels that led next were fittingly that of the police squad, that rendered an impressive display with its array of white and green supercars, for the rest of the way. The interesting point to note is that public safety was handled by the police squad.
People crowded the streets of UAE to watch this first ever spectacular parade. It was truly an amazing turnout! There were an estimated 20,000 people who showed up on the streets of Dubai to witness this magnificent event.
Post the Dubai Grand Parade was the Motor Show that had 600 massive car brands on display and which was thrown open to the public.
The route was an incredible 47 km through the iconic streets and marvelous landmarks of Dubai.
This was the 2013 route:
- Parade started at Trade Centre Round at about at 3pm
- Traveled down Sheikh Zayed Road Abu Dhabi bound at 60km/hour
- Exited Umm Suqueim heading West
