UAE’s official weather meteorologists have given the people the high sign to keep their distance on the roads and stay away from the seas as rain, winds and sandstorms hit the United Arab Emirates.
The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) reported the unsettled weather was likely to carry on until Wednesday with a chance of some rainfall over certain areas from time to time.
On Monday, light to moderate rains were seen in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and some parts of Abu Dhabi.
The chance of rain was most probably to raise its rates on Monday night, especially in coastal areas.
On Tuesday, heavier cloud cover also predicted at times across the country, especially over some northern, eastern and coastal areas of the country.
The high winds are also forecast to go on until Wednesday especially over the sea, rough sea in the Arabian Gulf and Oman sea, with them whipping up dust storms in many places.
The maximum temperature in the coastal areas is expected to be in the range of 22-24 degrees C with the minimum staying pleasant at around 18-22 degrees C.
The internal areas of the country to experience max temperature of 22-27 degrees C and minimum to be in the cool range of 14-17 degrees C.
The max temperature in the mountain areas to stay at around 121-17 degrees C and the minimum will drop to 7-11 degrees C.
“On Wednesday, the weather will be cloudy to partly cloudy, with a chance of some rain, especially over northern and eastern areas, and clouds will start to decrease gradually, especially in west areas,” a spokesman for the center said.
The wet road conditions were blamed for a number of crashes in Dubai on Monday.
At 11.45am a car overturned near the exit for Internet City on Sheikh Zayed Road, causing long tailbacks moving towards Abu Dhabi.
A spokesman for Dubai Police said the incident was not serious and there were no injuries.
“There had been some rain in the morning and the driver may have lost control which resulted in the car overturning,” he said.

The NCMS forecasts unsettled weather condition to continue in the country for the next 24 hours, reported Wam.
According to the report, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy until Saturday especially over the northern and eastern regions, with a chance of rain.
The unstable weather conditions will weaken by Saturday afternoon.
The sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
Meanwhile, the cold front that made landfall on Thursday morning unleashed its fury across the country in a 48-hour deluge that has resulted in accidents, school closures and emergency plans being executed across the seven emirates.
The country’s National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology has issued an all-points bulletin, warning residents of a storm surge that could bring thunderstorms to parts of the UAE, with high chances of a hail storm to follow over the weekend.
