The Honda Civic was a game changer for the Japanese automobile manufacturer and quickly made its way off the shelf due to its relative affordability. The car valuation for this Honda model has however gone down tremendously due to a flaw that could very well cost the driver of the car their life.
It is for this reason that the company has issued numerous recalls for the model that successfully rivals the recent ignition switch recall by General Motors – and that is saying something! The flaw lies in the air bags found in the Civic that were manufactured and supplied by Takata, a Japanese company.
One should start considering advertising used car due to the fact that the feature supposed to keep one safe is the very one resulting in injury and even death. Reports claim that even minimal impact sends the air bags deploying faultily by exploding, sending shrapnel flying into the cabin. These flying darts can impale themselves into the driver causing massive injuries from minor accidents.
The fact that the problem has dragged on for years with the recalls not really solving anything proves beyond any reasonable doubt that one has to dabble into the used car market and sell that Honda Civic because it’s a rolling death trap.
