A UAE team is competing in the Porsche GT3 Cup challenge middle east. The team headed by Karim Al Azhari is positive to earn the top spot in the final round at Dubai autodrome.

Clemens Schmid has already gained momentum after bringing home the first place during a race event in Bahrain last November. Al Azhari settled in the 10th spot. Schmid is almost reminiscing the time when he drives a pre owned cars in a racing event.

Karim Al Azhari had issues on tires during the race that made him underrated that day. In racing, the need for tire check should be check but his engineers already taken measures that by this time he will secure the top spot.

“I had some issues with the front tyres, and now I have to look at the data from the whole weekend in Bahrain and work with my engineers to iron out any problems,” he said.

“Because the competition is so strong, you need to be very accurate in everything you do. A small mistake moves you down the field very quickly. You need to be sharp and seize an opportunity when it presents itself.”

The final event will have a 14 lap race and shall be happening on December 12.

The National in its article states that Clemens young and free might have an advantage to him but the Emirati is eyeing for a good finish this time around. For the record Schmid’s holds a record of four first finishes in Bahrain.

Schmid’s spontaneous driving skills almost always gets him to the top spots, if not the winning spot, of every race he has been into and it’s not hard to see why. However; if he is not careful his opponents might still get a chance to beat him to the finish line.

“Clemens may be young, but he’s a very mature driver and I just expect him to get better,” Al Azhari said.

“He has huge potential. He proved again in Bahrain how good he is, and if he continues like this, he’s going to make a lot more headlines in the international arena.”

“He looks cool, and he really is that way. We spend a lot of time together for the week when we’re racing here, and he’s always very relaxed.”

“It’s not an act that he puts on. That’s a great advantage to have when the racing is so intense, as it is now in this series.”

Kuwaiti Zaid Ashkanani, who twice finished second in the Bahrain races is now behind four points as Schmid carries on the lead in this race.

The day before the contest, an auto test will happen in Dubai’s Autodrome and shortly after qualifying rounds will follow.

Schmid while setting up his victory charge is attempting to repeat his success in Bahrain, where he claimed pole position for both races. The excitement is like the feeling of opting to buy a new car and you can’t wait to drive yours.

The two 14-lap races will take place on Friday afternoon.
