Under the auspices of His Highness, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the Dubai Motor Festival was held under the tagline “Feel the Rush.” There were many events lined up to wow the crowd of car enthusiasts, petrol heads, drivers as well as the international automobile community.
Dubai International Motor Show
Connecting auto manufacturers, fans and outright diehards, the motor show is the comes to the fore of the Dubai Motor Festival. This edition brought out a whole load of supercars alongside their more humble ilk. The common theme; showcasing the best of the best from different categories as well as different manufacturers.
The oohs and aahs were palpable in the air as the lights gleamed off the elegant cars on marvellous daises amidst a crowd of journalists and other car enthusiasts.
Motor Village 2015
The Meydan Racecourse and Grandstand was transformed into the ultimate dream for every fan of anything on wheels. There was lots of entertainment for both the young and old in the form of games to actively participate in as well as exhibitions of exotic cars.
Ken Block, rally ace, graced the event. He said of his participation, “I’m really excited to be coming to Dubai for the Motor Festival in November. I had an amazing time visiting Dubai for the first time earlier this year and ever since then I’ve been looking forward to coming back with my Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR from Gymkhana SEVEN. I think the fans in Dubai are really going to enjoy seeing that on display, as well as in action during some of my demos!”
The Motor Village is home to the Dubai Motor Festival Marques d’Elegance & Dubai Grand Parade. Led by the renowned supercar fleet from the Dubai Police, the Dubai Grand Parade proceeded from the Motor Village through the city. Those with cars they considered worth showing off for the wide array of cameras dusted them off and put them on display as the parade snaked its way through the eye candy of Dubai.
Alongside the parade was the Dubai Motor Festival Marques d’Elegance, a title given to the most striking and magnificent vehicles of them all, as well as the Best Decorated National Day Car competition, which gave participants the opportunity to show their national pride and love for the UAE.
