  • Exceeding maximum speed limit by more than 30km/h is fined AED 600 while exceeding 20km/h is fined AED 500.
  • Driving against traffic, allowing children under 10 years old to sit in the front seat of the vehicle, entering without ensuring its clear, failure to leave a safe distance, failure to fasten seat belt while driving and failure to fasten in children correctly while driving are all fined AED 400 and 4 black points.
  • Exceeding permitted level of window tinting is fined AED 500 and 30 days of vehicle confiscation.
  • Not giving way to emergency, police and public service vehicles or official convoys is fined AED 500 and 4 black points.
  • Failure to stop after causing an accident and allowing others to drive a vehicle which they are not licensed are both fined AED 500.
  • Driving a noisy vehicle is fined AED 500 and 30 days of car confiscation.
  • Overloading a vehicle and protruding load from the vehicle without permission are both fined AED 500, 6 black cards and 7 days of vehicle confiscation.
  • Driving a vehicle that causes pollution and stopping on a yellow box are both fined AED 500 while stopping on the road for no reason is also fined AED 500 and 4 black points.

  • Applying make-up or combining hair while driving is fined AED 1000, 12 black points and one month of vehicle confiscation.
  • Having mobile phone in the hand in traffic is fined AED 200.
  • Private vehicles using dedicated bus and taxi lanes in Dubai are fined AED 600 while obscene hand gestures towards other drivers leads to being arrested for a month.
  • Not abiding by taxi drivers uniform or not keeping it in good condition, calling passengers in the presence of signs, not carrying a driver’s license while driving, not carrying a vehicle registration card while driving, driving without spectacles or contact lenses and not using interior light in buses at night are all fined AED 100.
