One of the most expensive and costly car crashes happened in Malaysia on the morning of December 6, 2013. Not one, but three, beautiful Lamborghini cars were traveling north on the North-South Expressway. The three cars, a Lamborghini Aventador and two Lamborghini Gallardos were part of a larger convoy of luxury cars traveling to a car show in Kuala Lumpur. They crashed together after one of them was side-struck by another vehicle that was not part of the convoy. It’s not often Lamborghini crash involves two Gallardo’s and an Aventador all at the same time.
After being struck, the first car of the three Lamborghinis involved veered into the divider and was hit from behind, with all three eventually becoming engulfed in flames. Twelve fire fighters responded to the crash, along with two different fire engines. The three cars and the two fire engines produced an impassable traffic jam on the highway for several hours. The three drivers were all able to get out of the vehicles in time and were unhurt by not only the crashes themselves but also by the flames. The damage to one of the cars was so great, it was completely destroyed. The other two sustained damages leaving them beyond repair. The total cost of these three Lamborghinis combined is over $1,000,000. Hopefully the owners, who are from Singapore, had substantial insurance coverage for all three vehicles. The other vehicles in the convoy traveling to the car show in Malaysia’s capitol city were completely undamaged.
While the three cars were traveling at 110 km/hour, which is the legal speed limit in the area, the other vehicle which started the crash points out that drivers should always be aware that they are not the only drivers on the road. Paying attention and knowing what is happening on the road around the vehicle being driven may be able to save a driver’s life if he or she is involved in a car crash.
