The Federal Council of traffic proposes reducing the legal age for driving in UAE

The general manager engineer who is Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, assistant of general manager for operations issues and president of the Federal Council of traffic in United Arab Emirates said that the law of the traffic federation allows those who completed the age of seventeen to apply for a motorcycle license in spite its danger to the lives of drivers and the difficulty of its leadership. Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen stressed that it is supposed that the law allows the same legal age for applicants that want to apply for a driver’s license of the light vehicles as well where these light vehicles are much easier in terms of driving education, and even more safer on the lives of their drivers compared to motorcycles in addition that the driver of the motorcycle can drive the light vehicles while the opposite is not true.

These thoughts came during a meeting of the Federal Council of the traffic which headed by the general manager engineer who is Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, assistant of general manager for operations issues at the Dubai police officers club in the presence of all members and officials from government agencies. This meeting discussed the appropriateness of the legal age which is required to apply for a driving license related to light vehicles, heavy vehicles and heavy buses. Also, the meeting included many thoughts and a number of important proposals that aim to maintain the security of the road with high efficiency in the United Arab Emirates and these proposals include the prohibition of registration for thelight buses (Mini-bus) to transfer human on the roads due to the large number of accidents caused by these buses in order to save the life of the citizens on the roads.

Also, the meeting discussed the raise of the period of imprisonment and the violation’s money for some of the dangerous violations that require to be transferred to the court in order that the judge provides a sentence for these violations in addition to the delivery of the vehicle’s plate to the original owner during the vehicle’s registration process to prevent any use of it in the futureand avoid the bad faith of some buyers who do not transfer the license of the vehicle in the legal authorities which leads the seller to commit many irregularities that forced the old owner to pay them later.
