The first session of the “Dubai Motorshow” Festival kicked off which includes a variety of events linked to the automotives sector under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai. Dubai festivals and retail institution organized the festival which ended in the ninth of last November and this institution is one of the institutions of the tourism and commerce marketing department.
The launch of the festival was in cooperation with the Dubai World Trade Centre, RTA and Dubai Police in order to entrench the position of the Dubai which is the leader in launching and organizing international festivals and to meet the aspirations of the many visitors and residents who care about the automobile and motorcycles industry of all kinds. Helal Al Marri, General Director of the tourism and commerce marketing department said: “The first session of the Dubai Festival for cars confirms the leadership of Dubai in creating and launching unique initiatives and festivals in the region and the world, and this establishes the status of the emirate as the best city embraces and organizes international festivals with this great level depending on its accumulated experience in this area and its high- efficiency and high reliability infrastructure”.
He added: “Our main goal behind the establishment of this festival is to attract such a wide range of visitors who interested in motor sport events through interesting and diverse to be provided by the “Dubai Motorshow” festival”. He pointed out that “Dubai Motorshow” festival represents a valuable addition to the table of emirate events and an important step to maintain the leadership of the Emirate of Dubai as a destination for family tourism and he expected that the festival will attract many lovers of cars sport from around the UAE and neighboring countries which reinforces the festival’s efforts to achieve the “2020 Vision” for the future of the tourism sector in Dubai that targets to attract 20 million tourists by the beginning of the next decade.
Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of Dubai festivals and retail institution which is one of the institutions of the tourism and commerce marketing department said: “With the start of the first session of this festival, the Emirate of Dubai emphasizes the leadership in the field of festivals industry regionally and globally where this festival confirms the unique fact that Dubai embraces one of the most active auto markets of all kinds in the region. The festival sheds light on the Arabian Gulf region as the most important global market for luxury and classic cars. It is expected that the events held during the festival will attract a large segment of young people and lovers of cars and motorcycles of all kinds from all over the world which is our primary goal of this event”.
