Ford Grew 47% Year on Year in China

American multinational automaker, Ford continued with its strong push along with its associates in China. Recently they announced that their sales in China increased by 47% from last year which is the company’s 4th month of successive growth with the total sales of 99,157.

The Chinese customers are seemed to be excited about Ford’s new car lineup of SUVs, including the all new Ford Kuga, which sold 9,248 wholesale units in June, with 37,412 wholesales sold since its launch earlier this year. The Ford Eco Sport which was launched in April also continued to turn heads, with 5,661 wholesale units sold last month. With Ford Kuga, Ford Eco Sport, Ford Edge and Ford Explorer all available in China today, Ford now competes in every segment of the country’s growing SUV market.

The company says the all new Mustang which was unveiled few days ago at a media event in Shanghai is one of 15 new significantly redesigned vehicles of Ford is bringing to China by 2015 to keep the growth in motion. The growth of this American car maker started in recent months after a slow start in the world’s biggest car market.

“Our performance demonstrates that we continue to build momentum in China,” said John Lawler, chairman and CEO of Ford China. “In the first half of 2013, we introduced four new passenger cars, significantly refreshed the Fiesta and Transit, set sales records, and launched a new engine and assembly plant. We are so pleased to continue serving Chinese customers with a growing portfolio of high quality, safe, fuel-efficient vehicles packed with smart technologies that they love and value.”

Ford has now surpassed on the local market from its Japanese rival Toyota, helped in part by a sales crisis Toyota and other Japanese brands have undergone since late last year in the wake of a flow in anti-Japan sentiment following a regional dispute between Beijing and Tokyo.
