Although the image of Land Rover and Jaguar is more than excellent in many parts of the world, it seems that the image of Jaguar and Land Rover in Egypt is still miles away from that positive reputation.
Just within the last week I met two persons in Cairo, who were very eager to tell me their experience with MTI, the official Jaguar and Land Rover dealer in Egypt, when they heard I work in the automotive media field. One of them sold his Jaguar XJ and went back to the Mercedes S-Class after his continuous problems with MTI and its service center.
The other gentleman, my new neighbor, kept on talking more than one hour about his negative experience with his Jaguar S-Type and the service center of Jaguar in Egypt.
It is such as pity that the image of Jaguar in Egypt is ruined in such an irresponsible way by the local dealer MTI, who has been criticized by almost every Jaguar, Land Rover and Ferrari owner in Egypt. (Thank god the Ferrari brand manager at MTI had to leave the company after several complaints from the media and Ferrari customers reached the highest levels at the Ferrari headquarter in Maranello.)
This is in particular such a pity since Jaguar and Land Rover currently offer a very attractive and interesting model range such as the Land Rover 2010 model range as well the Jaguar XF and Jaguar XJ.
Last year in July, we at Auto Arabia were the first automotive media in the Middle East region
and in Egypt to feature the world-premiere of the Jaguar XJ, when we published on the 9th of July on our website the official unveiling of the all-new Jaguar XJ at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea (London)
