Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, General Director of Protocol and Hospitality Department and former Chairman of the “Ahly” Club joined the membership of the director’s board of the Emirates Cars Club.
While announcing the joining of Khalifa Suleiman, Dr. Mohammed bin Sulayem – president of Emirates Motor club mentioned that he will play an important role in helping the National Commission for motors sport and shaping the future of motors sport in the country. He also said: “Khalifa Suleiman has a long experience in the sport and there is no doubt that he will enhance our efforts to apply the highest international standards during regulating the activities of motor sports in the state”.
Khalifa Suleiman joins the membership of the UAE Cars Club Directors Board with bin Sulayem, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Muhammad Atiq Al Qamzi and Saeed Al Tayer. His joining comes at a time the UAE Club for Automobile and Tourism considers one of the most prominent clubs and national bodies for motors sport in the world and it has leadership in the education, research and training sectors.
The UAE Motor club is considered the official and the only representative in the United Arab Emirates for each of the International Union of cars “FIA”, the international committee overseeing the cars sport and his counterparts for each of the motorcycles “FIM”, karting “CIK” and classic cars “Viva”. The club oversees the organization of more than 140 activities per year ranging from the long desert racing until the Grand Award of Formula 1.
There is a huge responsibility on Emirates Automobile Club since it is the regulatory body for the activities of Etihad Airways award race for Abu Dhabi “Formula 1” with Abu Dhabi Company for cars administration. The club which also organizes Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge and the Dubai International Rally is considered one of four national bodies for motors sport in the world authorized to provide training on behalf of the FIA which focuses generally on the safety of officials, competitors and fans.
As the club was established in 1965 but Emirates Motors club was able to achieve significant progress and exceptional in motors sport in the UAE after the adoption of His Highness Sheikh “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum”, Vice -President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai with the new Board of Directors for the Emirates Motor club headed by Mohammed Ben Sulayem who in turn made a major effort to strengthen the position of the club locally, regionally and globally.
