Fifty years ago from next year car enthusiast and a great industrialist Ferruccio Lamborghini, annoyed with the way he was treated at Ferrari, released a car that came to be famously known as the legendary 350 GT. This year on Nov. 12, 2012, yet another car of the Lamborghini series namely, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster was released amidst much speculations and expectations.
Consistent with Lamborghini’s high-performance tradition, the car has been surprisingly named after the great Aventador who was a trophy-winning bull from the very famous Spanish bullfighting around couple of decades ago. The first showroom Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster was expected to arrive was the one at North Scottsdale, 7171 E. Chauncey Lane with the first customer deliveries expected to begin in Arizona during the fourth quarter of 2013.
“This will be the fastest roadster on the road,” is what Beli has claimed, Lamborghini current sales manager at the Penske Automotive Dealership. He personally believes that it shall be a blast to drive both with and without top versions of the car. Given the technical specifics of the super car it is easy to claim that this is not for the faint-hearted or for the shallow-pocketed given the price tag that it carries along with.
The Aventador accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in mere 3 seconds and attains a maximum speed of 217 mph, but certainly not any time before the state police have to scramble helicopters after you. The car is powered by a rear-mounted 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12 which rips out 700 hp of power, surely with few rivals cars to claim superiority in terms of power on Earth. Gas-saving cylinder deactivation system also comes as a standard attachment with all the versions. However the instant Stop & Start system is an added new feature, which includes high-performance capacitors, namely “supercaps,” The most striking feature are the bold and aggressively designed new wheels that boast a dominance of their own. The engine hood further differentiates the Roadster from the Coupé.
After having discussed all this I personally feel that the Aventador Roadster is the most exciting series production Lamborghini ever built and would certainly set new benchmarks in the category of open-top luxury super sports cars.
