Mad Max or Furious 7: Which will be Best Car Movie of the Year?

There are action movie buffs, and there are car movie fanatics. The former are well within their rights to make hullabaloo because of all the actions scenes and maybe a smattering of scenes involving cars – moving or otherwise. The latter, on the other hand, have an even more refined palate when it comes to adrenaline surge inducing scenes involving automobiles married with high octane settings.  Car movies often make fans ponder, “If only I could buy any car?” This year two car movies make their way to the front to vie for bragging rights as the best movie of the year in this category. These are none other than Mad Max: Fury Road and the seventh installment from the Fast and Furious franchise; Furious 7. The split between fans if these two is the amount of computer generated imagery used. The previous editions of Fast and Furious did use computer graphics but car scenes were numerous with the vehicles being smashed left, right and center leaving fans wondering if the producers value any car. Furious 7 on the other hand is more about gun play and a lot of computer graphics. The makers of the reboot of the Mad Max franchise must have been buying cars by the boatload to use in their action sequences. True there are some computer graphics but it is just a supplement of imagery shot on set on the day. Wrap a neat family around the action and you have yourself a great car movie.
