China’s Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC) is known for manufacturing the commercial vehicles named as “Maxus”. Maxus was first working under British company. Later on, in 2008, due to financial issues, SIAC bought the Maxus. This company has just recently unveiled the different car models. These models were launched at Dubai and Qatar auto shows. These three models are Maxus G10, Maxus EV80, and Maxus V80. Among all, G10 has shown its first appearance in the United Arab Emirates. G10 owns some phenomenal features.
Maxus’ G10
Maxus G10 has 2.0-litre direct injection turbocharged engine that can generate 225 horsepower. It has a larger capacity than the previous typical models. The maximum capacity is 2500 liters. It is 6-speed automatic transmission. This is all in all a passenger vehicle. Maxus is yet to launch its commercial version with extra features. The commercial version of G10 will be containing 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine that would be able to produce 221 horsepower and torque of 350 NM.
According to Jolly Yang, Director of the Department of Overseas Business, this G10 model is a passenger vehicle but its commercial version will be introduced afterwards. This upcoming model will feature manual gearbox.
The company says that G10 has remained on testing for a year even in summer season. The main purpose to test this car is to check the stability and consistency. Maxus’ vehicles have been given to the Government officers in many countries by their authorities. Automobile markets of countries like Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the European states are successfully selling the Maxus. It’s a great prospect for the brand of Maxus and they are celebrating their achievement.
Maxus’ V80
Maxus V80 is a mini bus manufactured by Maxus. This vehicle has superb characteristics. One of the best features is that this van can carry 13 to 15 people. Due to large capacity, Maxus has fitted reliable four disk brake system i.e. ABS and EBD as ultimate safety measures. This vehicle has been equipped with LED lights that are used for daytime. It has reverse parking sensors, alloy wheels, dual sliding side doors with dual zone air condition system. Qualities of this model are endless. It is offering entry stair in its passenger model and rear barn doors in cargo models. It has 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine. This engine can generate 136 horsepower and torque of 330 NM.
Talking about V80 and EV80, yang said, “It is expected that V80 would be able to have longest drive range i.e. 370 kilometers”. EV80 is expected to turn into school bus soon. Yang admits that these models are relatively expensive in the price to their predecessors but they will appeal the customers to approach, try and buy for sure.
