McLaren MP4-12C – Dubai Police newest vehicles

The latest monster to joint Dubai’s police force is a beautiful new McLaren 12C Coupe, which has received new livery, sirens and lights.

We used to see a police car, but the newest vehicle at the Dubai police will soon be driving should receive appreciation instead of the typical scowl a police car will receive. The car were added to the already super-expensive fleet. The models the police force enjoyed previously were limited to an Aston Martin One-77, a Mercedes SLS, a Bugatti Veyron, a Lamborghini Aventador, a Bentley Continental GT, and a Ferrari FF. Those vehicles, just like the newest ones in the car show video showcasing the newest additions

Are all painted the well-known colours of the police department in Dubai. Green and white may seem to be mundane colours to outsiders and tourists, but these cars are anything but mundane.

The vehicles chosen are the Nissan GT-R, the Ferrari FF, the Audi R8, the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, and not one, but two BMW M6 Gran Coupes. It seems these new cars will not subtract from the police fleet at all, but greatly add to it. While the total value of the fleet isn’t known, for Dubai, and possibly for many other cities in the UAE, the financial resources are substantial enough to easily afford not only the vehicles themselves but also the upkeep. High speed chases are not something expected with these vehicles, although it is possible. The purpose of this police fleet is unlike any other police fleet on the planet.

Police will soon be seen driving and patrolling different areas of Dubai, particularly tourist areas, according to Col Nabil Abdulla Al Redha, Dubai Police fleet director, in order to promote Dubai. Col Redha also stated “We are mostly using them in tourist places, as a means of promoting to tourists, and allowing them to take pictures. This is promoting the image of Dubai, this is just advertising, because most people like sports cars. If you are putting an advert for just Dubai Police, perhaps not many people would be interested. But if you put an advert for a sports car, most people would be interested; people would be more attracted.” Videos of these super cars popping up online are also a big possibility.

So with no, high speed chases from these cars, they should be able to last much longer, and demand attention from the people of Dubai, and from those visiting one of UAE’s most beautiful cities. With Dubai being one of the world’s richest cities, easily affording such luxury cars sets an excellent example of how police officers should be treated by the cities they serve. While most cannot afford the types mentioned here, police departments should be equipped with the best vehicles possible. Some may believe that going to such expense is foolish, but how those protecting a city and its citizens is very important. Knowing that the city itself respects and cares about the police officers serving it will increase the respect held by both those living in Dubai, or any other city, and also the respect from those visiting, both on business and as tourists.
