British car maker McLaren is giving Porsche a run for its money with its newly launched junior sports car, McLaren 570s which will accelerate from 0-100 in exactly 3.2 seconds. It will also do a maximum speed of 328kph and feature a massive 1280W sound system with 12 speakers. The automaker’s car rating sees this new invention as the main competition to the super seller Porsche 911.
The car is equipped with a 3.8 litre V8 twin turbo engine with a seven speed transmission and weighs 1313kg. Its close similarities to Porsche is also noticeable in the appearance as the two feature the same height and length but the McLaren happens to be 255mm wider. On the scale, McLaren is 350kg lighter, is more powerful with less torque and slightly faster in the 0-100 acceleration. The top speed also beats the Porsche 911 by 13km.
Having debuted at the New York Auto Show, reports indicate that the automaker is already receiving orders from the Middle East, a top hotspot destination in the sports car market. The first owners of this super invention mid-engine sports car are expected to take their maiden rides in December this year, with higher production expected in 2016.
The car inherits the stylish McLaren family features with improved and lively interior with standard leather upholstery and optional racing seats. The car maker has indicated that this one will be an everyday ride having reconsidered the ease of entry and exit as well as the more spacious interior storage. The new seven-inch infotainment system in the centre console comes with a standard 8 speaker sound system upgradeable to the optional 12 speaker system.
