“Porsche” center in Dubai which is a part of the “Naboodah” Automobiles announced for the arrival of the new generation of Porsche cars to the local market with the sport convertible coupe “Boxster” and “Boxster S” models which were detected for the first time through the participation of the German manufacturer within the activities of the international Motor Show in Geneva. And the new generation of “Boxster” was subjected to a complete comprehensive developing process of which has been reflected on the new lightweight structure and a new body was fully developed for the two versions.
The longer wheelbase than its counterpart in the previous generation, two wider axes and larger wheels in addition to the reduction of weight that have undergone on “Boxster” model contributes in promoting the car’s driving dynamics with the it’s mid-engine dramatically. And the German manufacturer’s engineers enter a large set of radical changes to the exterior design that made the distances between the wheels and the limbs of the body much shorter and the front facade of glass is much closer to the front. The car also received expressive edges and flat silhouette picture more than the former. The interior of the car was completely redesigned so now it provides more space and reflects the internal nature of the “Porsche” modern models and also, the center console was redesigned which has become like his counterpart in the sport “Carrera GT” and to enhance the driving pleasure in the outdoors, the car supplied with an electric cloth roof without a cover for the storage compartment.
Commenting on the new model, George Wells – Managing Director of Porsche Middle East and Africa said: “There is no doubt that the new ‘Boxster’ represents a quantum leap in the mid-engine Porsche development process. The car has the most beautiful design and it became more suitable for the daily use as well as it ensures a pure sport driving pleasure”. On the mechanical side, “Boxster” and “Boxster S” have a flat six-cylinder engines and it is equipped with a direct fuel injection. Both models includes a thermal management system and a power retrieval system to the electrical system in addition to the “On/Off” automatic function for the engine and an electromechanical steering assistant. The new engine for the “Boxster” with a capacity of 2.7 liter generates up to 265 horsepower which is ten horses more than the previous engine which has a larger capacity. “Boxster S” engine with a capacity of 3.4 liters produces a power of 315 horsepower which is five horses more than it’s former counterpart.
The “Boxster” can accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in just 5.7 seconds and the “Boxster S“can accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in 5.0 seconds. The retail price for the “Boxster” is about 197,000 AED and 217,000 AED for the “Boxster S”.
