Sharjah Police is all set to install new radars on key roads where an increase in traffic violations has been recorded recently. These new radars will be installed particularly to track speeding and tailgating violations as these were the most common violations recorded on many major Sharjah roads. Sharjah Police had spotted maximum traffic violations on these roads since the start of 2017. Official Statement on the Installation of New Radars in Sharjah
Brigadier Saif Al Ziri Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police said that the installation of the new and advanced radars in Sharjah is part of the International Accelerators Programme of Sharjah Police. This new initiative is fundamentally linked with the UAE’s National Agenda 2021 vision that aims at reducing the number of traffic accidents across the country in order to achieve the target of making the UAE one of the safest and most secure countries in the world.
According to Sharjah police, five road deaths were recorded in the first quarter of 2017 on five major roads where traffic authorities have continued to install new radars since the start of this year.
