Without making public conveyance and walking or pedaling safer, it will be problematic to diminish the number of susceptible road users who die otherwise be positioned injured in the Region. Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) underlined its business social accountability obligation with the positive completion of a month-long road safety campaign conducted throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid period.

The impartial of the movement, held in partnership with Volvo, was to highlight the importance of safe driving, particularly before Iftar. According to figures, the highest quantity of accidents happens during this time. Volvo played a key role during the campaign, highlighting the precedence they give to security, as replicated in their tagline ‘Volvo for Life.’

Saeeds Abdullah Khoory, ENOC’s Group Chief Executive said: “The road safety campaign organized by ENOC is a testament of our commitment to the community. It has been observed that accident rates are high during the time just before Iftar and we wanted to alert motorists and make them more cautious. The campaign was very successful as we reached out to thousands of motorists daily, emphasizing the need for safe driving.”

Roula Beiruty, Marketing Manager – Volvo Cars Middle East, said: “The road safety campaign, in partnership with ENOC, was well received by motorists. At Volvo, we have always focused on safety – which is part of our heritage as well as a commitment for the future. The campaign helped in reiterating the need for safe driving – during the Holy Month of Ramadan and beyond.”

ENOC distributed brochures and flyers emphasizing the importance of safe driving to motorists as well as provided Evian Water Face spray to all drivers for free. The campaign was held across all 90 service stations of the company in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
