As portion of its ongoing road safety movement, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has selected Trakker Middle East (TME) from 25 contractors, to deliver the world’s most forward-thinking vehicle machineries on heavyweight trucks that pathway their association as well as condition of the tyres.
The innovative machinery has been formfitting to 40 trucks as a research to get its role in reducing circulation coincidences. Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Certifying Agency, said: “The Checking and Application Department at the Licensing Agency showed the scientific arrangements last month in collaboration with Trakker Middle East (TME) dealer of the scheme”.
Some transportation companies have volunteered to subject their heavy vehicles to this experiment by fitting them with the new system.
He added that the mechanism of the new pilot technology, which is electronically linked to control systems via satellites, enables sending of alerts to the driver, operator and the RTA in case of a certain defect in the vehicle or if the driver is over-speeding, enabling accurate and full revision of the vehicle’s safety.
The system does 10 basic functions which contribute to raising the level of traffic safety, effective management of heavy vehicles’ fleet and remote control of heavy vehicles and their whereabouts. It also performs other jobs related to the behavioral patterns of the driver and the extent of his proper and sound use of the vehicle on road.
It also contributes to minimizing accidents and erroneous behaviors in using the vehicle and fostering the traffic awareness concept among drivers and whether it reflects favorably on road safety,” Bahrozyan said, elaborating the system.
The system also checks tyre pressure, monitors variation in tyre alignment and defines the proper position of the tyre through a display panel indicating the body of the vehicle and tyre distribution in an effective manner.
As one of the world’s busiest trade hubs, there is robust demand in the Middle East for advanced solutions in fleet management. Delivery and transport companies need products such as vehicle-tracking systems given the high volume of goods transported within and outside the UAE. This has driven the growth of specialized fleet management vendors in the UAE, and they are under constant pressure to innovate and evolve to stay ahead of the competition.
