A ruby-themed Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe is about to go on sale in Abu Dhabi – with a price tag of Dh2.6 million.
Dubbed the “Ruby Limited Edition”, the vehicle has been designed as a testament to the gemstone, one of which is featured on its dashboard clock.
It is being shipped to the UAE and will go on sale at the Abu Dhabi Motors showroom in Umm Al Nar in the first week of September.
Stitched into the vehicle’s glovebox is the phrase “Ruby motif – one of one” – a constant reminder to the owner that they are driving something unique.
“Rubies are among a small group of gemstones and precious metals that have the rarity, historical significance and symbolic power to truly complement a Rolls-Royce vehicle,” said Arno Husselmann, general manager of Abu Dhabi Motors.
The vehicle was built as part of Rolls-Royce’s “bespoke” programme, which allows customers to design the look of their vehicle.
“The power of the bespoke programme lies in its ability to take the world’s greatest car and make it even more unique through exclusive touches unmatched by any other vehicle or manufacturer.
“Only one person in the whole world will own the Ruby Limited Edition Phantom Coupe and that person will be an Abu Dhabi Motors customer, and our ability to provide that privilege is only possible through such an innovative and prestigious programme,” said Mr Husselmann.
The idea for the car came from Kadhim Al Helli, Rolls-Royce brand manager at Abu Dhabi Motors.
It was handcrafted by specialists at the home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England.
In 2013, Abu Dhabi became the biggest market in the world for Rolls-Royce sales, with the emirate far-reaching out markets such as Beijing, New York, London and Moscow.
