Mr. Paul Masakarinas, vice president and technical director at Ford Motor Company said: “the next phase of developments in the automotive world will be extended to include what he calls a mixture of indicators or sensor fusion where the engineers will learn how to combine more than one index and add some information from cloud computing applications in order to make the car itself communicate with users which would make their daily lives easier”.
This idea is completely consistent with “Gul Chrimacai” statement. He is the senior vice president in the Covisint Company which is specialized in the development of computing technologies in many cars such as GM, Ford and others where he said: “the access to interactive real innovation does not mean just making some interactive panels but it revolves around the transferring of car’s user to the heart of the digital equation”.
Ford Company mentioned some of the current techniques that the company makes to reach the required goal very soon such as:
1) Ability to analyze data and making decisions:
Ford Company is currently collecting data that is captured through the car’s camera and cross the radar to be able to verify the potential dangers that may affect the driver’s attention on the road.
2) Improved and upgraded devices:
Ford Company is currently looking into the possibility of providing compatible devices to provide custom units for playing electronic games fast.
3) The continuous integration of environmental regulations:
The next step is to shift the consumer towards the use of cloud computing applications.
4) An advanced automated systems:
The new feature of Ford electric cars that these cars are using the “EV +” technology which is able to store the typical locations for charging the car’s battery and then doubling the electrical charge consumed in the driving only when approaching these specific locations.
5) Biometrics:
Ford Company is making a research on vital sensors such as those installed in the car’s seats to measure the voltage levels at the techniques used by the driver because the skill levels can vary from case to case.
6) Prediction:
Many researchers in Ford Company are working on studying the possible ways to predict the behavior of the driver such as determining his/her next destination depending on the places that he/she visited in advance as an attempt to develop some control means that would improve the performance like a better consumption of energy.
