The company is currently looking to adopt a certain smell to be an integral part of the identity of Ford brand around the world where the company hopes that each car of its cars will include some additional specifications such as the design, sense and even smell so all the Ford cars will include special smell to be as a brand.

Therefore, Ford Company hired five engineers who have an exceptional sense of smell where their mission is discovering the unwanted odors inside the Ford cars and trucks. This commission is called the “smells commission” according to Ford company and the five engineers are trying to spend long days in the laboratories of Ford company to assess the types of odors emitted from all parts of the car such as the carrier cups, airbag’s cover, floor carpet and seats’ fabric.
The ultimate goal of the commission is to accurately determine the smell that enhances the feeling of well-being within the Ford cars according to the statements of Drake Kuzak who is the group’s vice president for products development around the world in Ford Company. Drake Kozak admits that this may seem exaggerated to some people but he believes that the interest in such details give the Ford company a unique advantage. The company hired Linda Shmalz, supervisor in the Department of materials engineering for internal structures in Ford Company to begin the study of differentiate the odors from one area to another around the world. Linda Shmalz said: “the stink smell for us may not be the same smell for others in another area of the world”.
