Tips on driving in hot weather

Despite what many people think, your car is not invincible. Just as any person that has finished high school can tell you, metal is a very good conductor as far as heat is concerned, and it would be wise to take that into account when driving in the specific Arabian climate.

Getting ready to drive when it’s very hot

It’s only logical that there is no other entity that knows your car better than the manufacturer who build it. So it would be wise to interrogate the representative from whatever car market you got your vehicle from. Most of them will be more than happy to answer any question you might have, and they will provide you with useful info to overcome your issues. Either you are a tourist just going for a wonderful trip in the desert, or a local you have to pay attention as far as your car is concerned. If you were to check with them, they would tell you something like this:

You always have to verify the levels of the engine coolant. The coolant is very important and if your engine is constantly overheating and you just can’t find an explanation,  it means that over time, your coolant has been used up. This can result in overheating and, on a longer term, engine damage. Also never go off on any trip before going to the local dealership and making sure that your battery is fully charged and working properly. Getting stranded in some remote location is never an ideal situation regardless if you are a local or a tourist. So just take a short trip to your local dealer and very things.

You have to realize that despite its impressive size, the engine is quite a delicate structure. Even the mightiest of metal can wear down after constant motion, especially if you add extreme heat into the mix. What moving parts of any system needs are lubrification so it is extremely import for you to change your oil as often as possible. And also be sure not to cheap out when it comes to what oil you will use, always go for the high grade stuff, instead of its lower quality alternatives. Nothing soothes an overheated and overworked engine more than some fresh, high grade oil.

In fact just as you yourself need plenty of fluids, so does your car. Power steering fluid, brake fluid and windshield wiper fluid are all very necessary components.

Your own comfort  should also be taken into account, your car’s climate system should be in tip top shape. I know these things seem rather intuitive and that getting your car to a checkup may seem like a waste of money if it’s already working fine, but believe me nothing can be more important. Also be sure to turn on your windshield wipers. If they don’t work properly, meaning that they streak or smear, odds are they will need you to change them.
