Toyota Includes Prado in the Takata Airbag Recall

The Toyota Prado is a really successful model from the car maker that made it really big in the far markets. African businessmen were pretty taken with this particular Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and as such there was great car value attached to it in the continent as well as elsewhere where the interest for the car was high.

The scourge from the Japanese parts maker, Takata, did not however hit selectively but found its way into many models from different companies. Toyota was one of the worst hit by the problem leading to the issuance of by far the biggest recall of automobiles in the history of the industry. Many owners of Toyota products found themselves asking their inner self, “What is my car still worth?

The models built between September 2009 and June 2010 have been singled out because they may have a faulty spiral cable electric connection for the driver’s air bag module. Apparently when the steering wheel is repeatedly turned, the problem is worsened in that it could lead to the warning light illuminating and the air bag failing to deploy.

A car is not really worth its salt if the air bags fail to operate optimally and it would be high time to get it off your hands by putting it among the cars for sale.
