Rashid Alzaherywho is just five years old but he did a significant impact on the local kart racing arena as he seeks to go this route all the way to the races of Formula one. This kid who will be six years old on the eighth of next April made a bang on the local scene through his superiority on the top competitors in the kart racing and under the supervision of his father who is Ali Alzahery. The driver AyrtonSennasaid once: “The car races is in my blood” and we can say the same thing for the child RashidAlzaherywho is a big fan for the driver Fernando Alonso where Rashid is keen to use the suit race similar to the Spanish world champion driver’s suit when he is on the race track.
The story of Rashid began with motor racing in 2011 at the age of three when he visited for the first time the service area of Ferraris during the Abu DhabiFormula One race where he stood excitedly in front of theFerrari garage for hours surprised by the ongoing work and the sound of the engines in the service area. Ferrari crew noted him standing for a long time so they allowed him to enter into the service area to meet Alonso. Since that moment, Rashid realized what it should be in the future and he did not miss any championship in his home town since then. After his first visit to the inner sanctum of the Ferrari team, all what he was talking about to his parents is his desire to enter the world of motor racing in order to become a globalUAE’s champion in motor racing field as Alonso in Spain.
He underwent an intensive training program in kart racing for kids and this led in turn to his participation in his first race on last October on the circuit of Al Ain for car races during the opening round of the Rotax Maxchampionship in United Arab Emirates for 2013-2014 session which brings together a selection of kart drivers in the state.
Rashid participated in the category of “Bambino” along with otherfive contestants aged eight years old who compete in this series of races. Rashid although making a good progress as he has recently scored major victories on the “Dubai Kartdrom” circuit in the month of January on the occasion of his first anniversary as a kart racing driverwhere he recorded a new number in theKartdromeround during the race. Rashid will compete during the remainder of this season in the category of “Bambino” in addition to the program of training and skills development. Also, it is planned that Rashid will go to an international training in Italy in order to participate in a series of races selected for kart races in Europe for his age group.
